About the School

Birla School of Management (BSoM) owes its origin to Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Bhubaneswar. BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar, was established in 2013 as an offshoot of BIMTECH, Greater Noida (National Capital Region of Delhi). It became part of Birla Global University (BGU), Bhubaneswar, in 2016 with a new name, Birla School of Management. BGU is promoted by the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata, India, with a goal to provide quality education to the aspiring new-generation professionals who can foster economic development and drive social transformation. Smt. Jayashree Mohta, the Chairperson of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, chairs the Board of Governors, an apex body to lead the University. Halls of Residence

Not only focusing on the educational space, we also ensure students have a comfortable residence space. BGU has adequate hostel facilities for the students. The hostels provide ultra-modern living environments. The hostels are designed to provide a proper mix of privacy and a unique social experience.

Sports

Playgrounds and Courts for outdoor sports like Football, Cricket, volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, and Badminton, and tracks for Cycling are available on the campus. Indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, and Carrom are also available

Health Centre

The round-the-clock medical facility is available on campus wherein a lady nurse and a pharmacist are available 24×7 with essential medicines. A senior Medical Officer visits the campus thrice a week for consultation and can also be contacted any time in case of an emergency.

Campus Gym

A well-equipped Gymnasium is available for students on the campus. Male and Female students have been allotted separate timings to use the facilities at the Gym.

Mess and Cafeteria

There is a regular Mess that serves Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, and Dinner to the students as per the Menu decided by the Students’ Mess Committee. There are also Cafeterias on the campus which serve a variety of snacks to cater to the students’ taste buds.

Tuck Shop

The Tuck Shop on campus caters to the basic requirements of students i.e., stationeries, packed food items, toiletries, etc. It also offers Mobile Recharge, Photocopy, and Spiral-binding services to students on a payment basis.

Laundry

Centralized Laundry services are available on the campus with skilled manpower for the laundry operations.

Transportation

Shuttle Bus Service: The university provides transport facilities between the campus and Bhubaneswar city during fixed days/timings.

Student Corner

BGU’s student-led committees and clubs help students grow holistically. These vibrant platforms allow them to learn about their interests and skills by becoming involved in varied activities. The Cultural Club at BGU puts on festivals, plays, and other events to encourage creativity and diversity. The Sports Club offers athletic activities, fitness programs, and competitions across universities to encourage teamwork, discipline, and fitness. Through outreach, awareness, and volunteering, BGU’s NSS unit teaches students how to be socially responsible and involved in their communities.

The Alumni Committee helps alumni stay in touch with each other, while the Editorial and Literary Clubs help people be more creative, think critically, and talk to each other. • Q1. What are the different Programs offered by Birla School of Management, Birla Global University? What is the duration of each course?

  The duration of the MBA program is for two years; BBA is for 3 years, BBA(Honours/ Honours with Research) is for 4 years, as per NEP 2020.

• Q2. Can a student apply for admission if the results for qualifying examination are awaited?

  Students appearing in qualifying examination in the coming year may also apply. Their admission shall however be provisional, subject to confirmation upon obtaining qualifying marks.

• Q3. How can I obtain an admission brochure?

• Q4. What is the process of admission to the Ph.D. program?

  Candidate needs to fill online form with the prescribed fee and candidates must have a Master’s degree or a Professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

• Q5. What is the process of admission to the MBA program?

  Candidate needs to fill online form with the prescribed fee and the candidate must have a valid CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT / GMAT / Entrance Examination conducted by BGU. Thereafter, Written Essays and Personal Interview process is conducted with the support of senior corporate managers to select students for the programme. Final selection into the program involves suitable weightages allocated for Work Experience, Academic and Professional Qualifications, Regional background etc. Admission shall be made on merit.

• Q6. What is the process of admission to the BBA program?

  Candidate needs to fill online form with the prescribed fee and the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final examinations can also apply. Students would be admitted to the programme on the basis of merit (Percentage of marks secured in 10th and 10+2/12th Board Examination). Candidate may also be called for Personal Interview.

• Q7. What is the deadline for admission?

  The last date for submitting completed application form is given on University website.

• Q8. What are the different payment options available for taking the admission?

  Demand Draft, Cheque, Credit Card and online payment facilities are available.

• Q9. Does BGU arrange for Educational loan through banks?

  Birla Global University courses are credible and popular. Educational loans are provided by all Nationalized Banks. Students have to approach the Bank of their choice.

• Q10. Is there any scholarship/ fee waiver/ free-ship for the meritorious students?

  Yes, according to the University norms.

• Q11. What is minimum attendance requirement to appear in semester examinations?

  Minimum attendance requirement to appear in the end-term examination in each semester is 75% as per UGC norms.

  Yes. every student is required to intern for a minimum of 8 weeks during the course of 2 years.

• Q13. Are sufficient books available in the library?

  Yes. The library consists of rich collection of Management Books, Journals, and Business magazines. Database of National and International Journals and Cases including SCC Online, ProQuest etc can be accessed in the digital library.

• Q15. Is the campus WIFI enabled?

  Yes. The campus is Wi-fi enabled and is equipped with latest computing facilities. All computers are connected to the internet with a bandwidth of 110 Mbps.

  No. Facilities of digital-library and law library are available. The relevant readings and cases may be provided by the concerned teacher online.

  BSOM offers various social/ cultural societies and technical committees. Our students are associated with social clubs like Rotary Club, Red Cross Society etc, involved in different social services like blood donation camps, each one teach one and relief camps. Various Guest lectures of industry people are organized from time to time so that the students get deep insights into the corporate world.

Entry-Level Scholarships

• B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering:
  • 20% waiver for students securing 70% or above in the qualifying examination and 70 percentile in JEE / 80% in BET
