Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar celebrated its 5th Annual Convocation for PG 2020-22 and UG 2019--22 batch students at its campus in Bhubaneswar on November 29, 2022. Dr. P K Mishra, IAS (Retired), Former Secretary, Govt. of India, and Chairman, Board of Governors, presided over the Convocation. The Chief Guest of the function was Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Honourable Member of Parliament and Founder, KIIT & KISS. He was conferred with Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa).
In his Convocation Address, Prof Samanta, said that the universities should help the students in developing career focused skills which will help them in their professional life. He urged the students to develop a humanitarian approach, the idealism of compassion and humility to be successful in life.
Prof. P. P. Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Birla Global University delivered the Welcome address and presented the annual report of the University outlining its activities and plans.
Prof. P. Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management, Prof. Samson Moharana, Dean, Birla School of Commerce & Birla School of Social Sciences & Humanities, Prof. L. K. Deb, Dean School of Law and Dr. S. S. Das, Head, Birla School of Communication presented the list of graduating students of their schools to the Chairman for the award of degrees. The Convocation Ceremony was conducted by Dr. B.K. Das, the Registrar, Birla Global University.
The Controller of Examinations Dr. Manas Kumar Pal presented the records of the degrees to the Chancellor.
In MBA, Ananyaa Saktiroopa, Batch Topper & Finance Area Topper, Sambedna Mohanty, Human Resource Area Topper, and Nandini Samal, Marketing Area Topper were awarded Gold medals.
From M.Com, S K Izhan Fazle was given gold medal for being batch topper, Okram Chinglemba Meetei for being batch topper in MA Economics (H), Ishani Acharya for being batch topper in LLM and area topper in Corporate Law and Ebin Emersion for being area topper in Criminal Law.
From the undergraduate courses, Saloni Sahani from BBA, Rajdeep Seth from BBA (H)- DM, Mahendera Pranav Bhaskar from BBA (H)- BA, Ankita Moharana from BAJMC (Hons.), Ritika Kumari from BCom, and Prarthana Saha from BA Economics (H) were given gold medals. Saloni Sahani from BBA was also awarded as the best graduate of the year.
