Birla School of Management organized an HR Conclave on Changing HR Landscape: Evolving Role and Responsibilities on 25 February 2023. The conclave was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Manabendra Misra (Ex VP and Head-HR of Larsen and Toubro, Ex Executive Director, SAIL), Guest of Honour, Dr. Vipul Singh (Divisional Vice President and Head of HR, ADP India), Prof. P.P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, BGU, Dr. B. K. Das, Registrar, BGU and Prof. P. Nayak, Conclave Chair and Dean, BSOM, by lighting of lamp. Mr. Manabendra Misra in his speech said that HR has evolved from a basic administrator to a strategic role recognized as business partner, strategic innovator, and champion. Dr. Singh stated that human mind and technology go hand in hand by highlighting data driven decision-making, digitalization, diversity and inclusivity. Prof. Mathur spoke on the importance of human skill and technological advancement by emphasizing on uncertainty of time that always pays path to develop, upgrade and upscale the human potential. Prof. Das shared his thoughts on the transition of HR from traditional staff department to modern Human Resources (HR) and also underlined the importance of HR in any organization. Prof. Nayak extended the welcome address and set the tone of HR conclave by introducing the theme. He emphasized on the need of humanizing workforce to manage diversity and to adopt inclusivity. The conclave had insightful discussions in panel discussions on Talent Acquisition and Development: Changing Dynamics and Challenges of Managing Millennial at Workplace. The conclave also hosted poster-making and case analysis competition amongst students of various B Schools which was coordinated by the HR Co- Conveners Dr. Snigdha Mohapatra and Dr. Rojalin Sahoo. The program came to an end with Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Archana Choudhary, HR Conclave Convener.
