Spectra 2K23, the annual fest held at Birla Global University proved to be a massive success this year. The five-day event, which took place from April 9th to 13th April, was all about showcasing the diverse array of cultures, art forms, academic and sports. The fest saw a large number of enthusiastic students from different colleges and universities coming together to celebrate and showcase their talents.
The fest was inaugurated by Prof.(Dr.) P P Mathur, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) B K Das, the Registrar. The festival featured a range of activities and competitions in three different categories i.e. Sports, Co-curricular and extra-curricular competitions and Cultural celebrity nights. The students enthusiastically participated in all the events, showcasing their talents and skills in front of their peers.
The sports segment well known as ATOS of BGU organized matches in Futsal, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess and Athletic meet. Teams from eleven different institutions and universities from in and around of BGU participated in all these matches.
The list of events hosted under SPECTRA 2K23 were Stock Star: Trade-A-Thon, Face Paint, Youth Parliament, Jazz Jam, DIY Carnival, Instant Photography, Film Making, RJ Hunt, TV News Reading, BGU Hackathalon, Object-O-Rama, Fiction Frenzy, Silver Linings, Word Sword, Talent Hunt (Vocal), Talent Hunt (Dance) and Spectra Runway.
The last segment was the two days’ extravaganza, the cultural celebrity nights on both 12th and 13th April. The cultural event started with the dance drama “Dasavatharam” performed, choreographed and directed by the BGU students across different schools. DJ Rhea (Bollywood fame), was the attraction of 12th April. She assertively holds the audience breath with all her skills of mixing music to a different level altogether. The evolving rock star MC Square (Winner Hustle 2.0, MTV fame), was really engaging with the audience on 13th April night. DJ Rhea and Mc Square the celebrity performers enthralled the audiences with their extraordinary skills.
Students also managed to have sponsorship from seven different brands including Theka (Shrak Tank 2 fame), Big Cup to have their food and beverage stalls in the campus for both these days.
