Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar organized the commencement day programme of newly admitted students of BBA on 31 July 2024. Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi (IPS, DG Fire & Emergency Service, Commandant General, Home Guards and Director, Civil Defence, Odisha) graced the function as the chief guest.
Dr. Sarangi, in his commencement day address stressed on the health and fitness of the students and reminded the challenging scenario of COVID 19. He further added on the impact of COVID on farmers and rural people as they were less affected by it due to their good health. He shared his ideas on the VUCA world and strategies to be adopted in this fast-changing world such as less arrogance, willingness to learn, empathy and creativity.
Prof. P. P. Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Birla Global University in his presidential address said that students should have perseverance and learn from everyone around them. He stressed on payback towards society from the students.
Prof. B. K. Das, Registrar, Birla Global University spoke on future readiness of the students. He suggested that students should ask questions.
Dr. Parameswar Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management, BGU, in his welcome address highlighted the importance of BBA Program and said that students should have fewer expectations from others and focus on doing hard work. He stressed on maintaining the attitude and behaviour of students. Then Dr. Nayak asked the students to take pledge of honour code.
The programme started with the rendering of the “Kulgeet” (University Anthem) and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The commencement day concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Satyakama Mishra, Associate Professor, and BBA Programme Coordinator, Birla Global University. Among others who attended the programme were Deans of schools, faculty members, parents and newly admitted students of BBA programme.
