Birla Global University (BGU) successfully hosted its prestigious annual sports festival, ATOS 2025, from February 16 to February 18 2025, bringing together top student-athletes from universities across Odisha. The three-day sporting spectacle was a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the undying spirit of competition, drawing an overwhelming response from participants and spectators alike.
The fest featured an impressive lineup of sporting events, including cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and throwball, with every match showcasing extraordinary skill, tactical brilliance, and sheer determination. The energy on the BGU campus was electrifying as teams clashed in high-stakes encounters, fighting for supremacy in their respective disciplines.
The finals were the tournament's highlight, delivering edge-of-the-seat action, unforgettable moments, and nail-biting finishes for the 700+ spectators who had gathered to cheer for their teams. The event also featured some scrumptious food items served by the food partners, such as Mommy's Momos, Narula's Kulfi, Rolling Crunchies, and Pizza Hut.
ATOS 2025 concluded with a glorious closing ceremony, where winners and runners-up were honoured for their outstanding performances. The dignitaries applauded the participants, emphasizing the values of perseverance, discipline, and hard work in sports and life. The BGU Basketball team emerged as undisputed champions, displaying dominance on the court. At the same time, the hosts secured runner-up titles in football, cricket, badminton (boys), and throwball, proving their mettle across multiple arenas. Silicon University grabbed the winning title in football, while C. V. Raman Global University emerged as the champion in cricket. The volleyball tournament saw DRIEMS University emerge as the champion, with Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) as the runners-up. Utkal University grabbed the winning title in the badminton (girls) championship.
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the tireless efforts of the faculty members of the organizing committee, including chairman Dr. Amritkant Mishra, members Dr. Purnendu Kumar Patra, Dr. Alok Kumar Pani, Dr. Mehul Agarwal, Ms. Sruthi Rajan and Ms. Ishani Acahrya, sports officer Mr. Satyabrata Acharya, student coordinators Piyush Lenka, Aditya Arya, Rajib Das, Divya Singh and Tanisha Mohapatra, volunteers, and university administration and support staff, whose dedication ensured a seamless and exhilarating experience for all.
ATOS 2025 was a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and inter-university camaraderie. The event fostered friendship and mutual respect among student-athletes, reinforcing the true essence of competitive sports. The tournament wasn’t just about winning trophies but about embracing challenges, pushing limits, and showcasing the power of teamwork and determination. As the Registrar of Birla Global University Prof. B. K.
