The evolving nature of business today calls for a fundamentally different kind of leader’ said the Honourable Governor and Chancellor Dr. S.C Jamir while addressing the inaugural session of the fresh batch of BBA& B.Com students (2017-18) of Birla Global University.
He exhorted the students to embrace opportunities and use them to the best of their abilities and advised them to take full advantage of the resources. Honourable Governor also asked them not to doubt their ability to make a difference. He asked students to be optimistic as ‘A different world cannot be built by indifferent people’. The welcome ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Governor and other dignitaries on the dais. Dr.Sudhakar Panda, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, dignitaries, new students and parents on this occasion. In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor described the Honourable Governor as a distinguished diplomat, an eminent educationist and a value based statesman.
In his address to the students Guest of Honour, Mr.John Francis ,Associate Director, Ernst & Young, said that the aspiring professionals need to be focused and committed towards attainment of their career goals. He said that with fast changing technology, the students need to be adaptable and quick learners.
Dr.P. Nayak, Dean, School of Management, BGU, administered Pledge of Honour Code to the students.
Dr.B K Das, Registrar, BGU offered the vote of thanks to the Honourable Governor, Guest of Honour, media representatives, parents and all others who were instrumental in organizing this program. The Honourable Governor planted a mango sapling in the University campus, followed by a plantation drive by the students of the university.
