Birla School of Commerce organized the 8th Commencement Day programme

On 30th July 2024, Birla School of Commerce organized the 8th Commencement Day programme to welcome the newly admitted students of B.Com and M.Com batch. The event was graced by CA Rajib Sekhar Sahoo, Principal Partner at SRB & Associates & Member, Company Law Committee as the Chief Guest and Mr. Sourajit Kar, Zonal head of Nayara Energy as the Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.P Mathur, Registrar, Prof.B.K Das and Dean, Birla School of Commerce, Prof. Samson Moharana.

The programme was commenced with BGU Kulgeet, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Prof. Samson Moharana, Dean Birla School of Commerce, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of this milestone for students, parents, and faculty. He thanked parents for their trust and emphasized BGU's commitment to providing a dynamic and evolving commerce education. He encouraged continuous learning and deep engagement with studies.

Registrar, Prof. B. K. Das also provided assurance to the parents and students about the university as well as Birla School of Commerce.

Mr. Sourajit Kar, Zonal Head of Nayara Energy, highlighted the importance of effective communication and practical education, urging students to develop essential skills and become brand ambassadors for their strengths.

CA Rajib Sekhar Sahoo emphasized on commerce, financial literacy, and risk management while addressing India's employment challenges, motivating students to aim high and plan carefully.

Prof. P.P. Mathur, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, spoke about the transformative power of commerce and the importance of effective time utilization. He encouraged students to leverage university resources and emphasized time management, passion, and dedication.

The event featured the release of BGU's 6th edition newsletter, "Communiqué," and followed by felicitation of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, the programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. R.K. Mishra. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Lopamudra Nayak, Assistant Professor and B.Com programme coordinator. The programme helped in setting a positive tone for the new academic year, leaving a lasting impact on the students.
