The Birla School of Commerce, Birla Global University inaugurated a one-week online FDP on Emerging Issues in Accounting Education and Research with an objective to create an intellectual consensus towards emerging areas in Accounting Research and Education. The inaugural session was held on 25th Oct, 2021 which was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr). P.P. Mathur, the Registrar, Prof. (Dr). B.K.Das, Dean School of Commerce, Prof. (Dr.) Samson Moharana, and 49 participants from 11 states of the country.
The faculty resource person of the inaugural session was Prof. (Dr.) D.V. Ramanna, from XIM University, Bhubaneshwar. He discussed on the topic Accounting and Effective Governance Research and Practice. He discussed about the current application of Accounting process in External Reporting, Internal Decision Making, Measurement, Presentation and Recording. The event ended with a question and answer session by the participants and formal Vote of Thanks. The other topics for the discussion in the FDP include Forensic Accounting, Sustainable Corporate Reporting, Accounting Standards and Artifical Intelligence in financial decision making.
