Birla Global University (BGU) organized a One-Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Teaching, Learning, and Research: In The New Technological Era" starting from June 26, 2023. This program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of teaching, learning, and research in the context of the latest technological advancements.
Inaugurating the FDP Prof. (Dr) P.P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, BGU highlighted the significance of time and use of technology in teaching, emphasizing in maintaining the pace with the advancements taking place. He also emphasized on the relevance of the Internet of Things (IoT), AI in higher education and research. In his address, Registrar Prof. (Dr) B.K. Das focused on the importance of storytelling in teaching and stressed that while the internet can be a valuable teaching tool, it cannot replace teachers.
The FDP will encompass both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with a special focus on publishing in reputed journals. Additionally, it will highlight the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the accreditation process of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Esteemed speakers from prestigious institutions such as IITs, IMI, XIM, KIIT, Utkal University, and CYSD have graciously agreed to share their expertise as resource persons for this program. All faculty members, research scholars of BGU attended the FDP. Prof. P.K. Sanyal and Prof. Satyakam Mishra coordinated the FDP.
