Day1
A two-day International Conference on "Building a Sustainable Future: The Role of Key Stakeholders," jointly organised by Birla Global University and the City University of New York, concluded at the BGU Campus with a galaxy of keynote speakers, internationally acclaimed researchers, experts, sustainable practitioners and paper presenters around the world. The speakers and the presenters gathered to discuss and deliberate on critical issues
related to sustainability, SDGs, ethical use of technology, corporate responsibility, the urgent need for collective action and the role of stakeholders. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the City University of New York (CUNY) and Birla Global University. Prof. Milton Santiago, President of Bronx Community College, CUNY,
addressed the audience on the university's commitment to sustainability and the
transformative initiatives it has taken. Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, addressed the audience and cited the importance of individual responsibilities towards sustainability. Eminent Professors from IIMs, Prof. Neharika Vohra, Prof. Ashish Aggarwal, and Prof. Anita Rath, from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences addressed as Keynote Speakers and Guest of Honour. Distinguished Professor Prof. Peter M.
Groffman and Prof. Neal Phillip from City University addressed the luminaries as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker in the inaugural session. Prof. Paeamita Sen introduced CUNY to the large gathering. Prof Parameswar Nayak, Dean of Birla School of Management, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Anubha Ray, the conference convenor, introduced the theme of the conference. Dr. Archana Choudhary proposed a vote of thanks at the inaugural session.
Day 2
Researchers and academicians across the country presented more than thirty research papers. Prof. Gertrude Hewapathirana from the University of Minnesota, US, Prof. Gul Bayram from Sinop University, Turkey, and Prof. Krishnadas Nanath from Middlesex University, Dubai, joined the conference as Keynote Speakers and Session Chairs. Peter M. Groffman gave a Valedictory Address in the valedictory session. Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor,
BGU and Prof. Milton Santiago, President of Bronxx Community College, CUNY, gave their concluding remarks. Dr. Archana Choudhary, the conference convenor, read the conference report. Prof. B.K Das, Registrar, BGU, proposed a vote of thanks to all. The two-day conference concluded with a resounding ovation and a commitment to sustainability.
