Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar celebrated the “International Human Rights Day” on December 9, 2021. The event was graced with the presence of Lordship Justice K . G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India & Former Chairman of National Human Right Commission as the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. P Mathur, Respected Registrar Prof. (Dr.) B K Das, Deans of all the Schools, faculty and staff members and the students of Birla Global University. The event was conducted in hybrid mode. The welcome address was delivered by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P P Mathur. Lordship Justice K. G Balakrishnan expressed his delight at the commemoration of the “International Human Rights Day” by the School of Law, Birla Global University with such zeal as he addressed the gathering. Lordship Justice K.G. Balakrishnan stated that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted 73 years ago on 10 December, was a watershed moment in history because it established the basic requirements with regard to equality, justice, dignity, cultural, social, and economic rights that all the countries of the world must adhere to. Prof. (Dr.) L. K Deb, Dean of the Birla School of Law, proposed the vote of gratitude. Dr. Bhavana Sharma, Associate Professor at Birla School of Law, Birla Global University was in charge of organising the event.
