The Birla School of Commerce, Birla Global University organised a one day National Seminar on the topic "Indian Financial System: Strategic Issues, Challenges and Opportunities" at its campus. The inaugural ceremony saw an august gathering of dignitaries. Shri Salil Kumar Mishra, CEO, Reliance Retail Insurance & Head, Finance and Accounts of Reliance Industries graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He pointed at the significance of new tax implications on Indian economy and also highlighted the financial conditions of the country. Dr. V. Shunmugam, Director (Research), MCX-IPF, Mumbai and Shri Sridhar Patra, Director (Finance), NALCO were Guests of Honour at the inaugural ceremony which ended with the release of the Seminar Abstract Volume in the presence of Prof. Sudhakar Panda,VC,BGU,Prof.B.K.Das,Registrar,BGU and Prof. Samson Moharana,Seminar Chairman & Dean Birla School of Commerce. The inaugural ceremony was followed by panel discussion and three technical sessions. The panel discussion was chaired by Dr. V. Shunmugam and joined by Shri S. K. Mitra, Chairman, Jankalyan, Microfinance, and Shri Trinath lenka, Managing Director, Wallet4wealth. Prof. (Dr.) Prabodh Kumar Hota, Head of P.G. Department of Commerce, Utkal University moderated the panel discussion. Eminent academicians joined the seminar and delegates presented papers on corporate finance, banking system, entrepreneurship, cyber frauds in financial sectors, financial inclusion, monetary and fiscal policy of India, stock market and commodity market. The seminar ended with vote of thanks presented by Controller of Examinations, Birla Global University and Seminar Co-Chair Prof. Bimal Chandra Mishra.
