Birla School of Management (BSoM) of Birla Global University conducted one day national seminar on theme “Indian Startup Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges” on 31 August 2019. The seminar was inaugurated by honorable VC of BGU Dr. Sudhakar Panda along with the chief guest of the inaugural session Mr. Sriram Panda, Managing Director MITS Food Park. Mr. Panda focused on the opportunities that are available today for entrepreneurs and how everybody should dream to change the society. The guest of honor, Mr. Jaydeep Raskhit, of Skillspro explained the new age entrepreneurial mindset that should align itself with practical problem solving issues. Dr. Parameswar Nayak , Dean BSoM pointed out the challenges an entrepreneur faces in its early period of struggle and he further stressed the issues of failing and failure stories that truly teach a lot while moving in this entrepreneurial journey. Some of the young entrepreneur who shared their entrepreneurial journey were like Mr. Alok Sahu, CEO, Tetrahedron Manufacturing Services, Mr. Shreelok Mohpatra, CEO, Trinity Skoda and Dr. Ramesh Chandra Biswal, CEO, Villa Mart. The second session was a panel discussion on the theme “Opportunities and challenges of start-up ecosystem”. Here Mr. Rajen Padhi, Former Director General, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Bhubaneswar highlighted the issues that hunt the new age entrepreneurs like funding and man power support and he also encouraged students to become very positive while pursuing their dream of becoming an entrepreneur . Mr. Sidhanta Sravan Panda, Head strategies, Maiestas Technologies Private Limited deliberated the real issues that need to be understood like emphasis on real problem that can give sizable market in next five years ,so that any startup can scale up and taste success. The session was moderated Prof Swagat Kishore Mishra . The theme of the seminar was presented by seminar convenor Dr. Sujit Kumar Patra while Dr. Sandeep Kumar Mohanty extended the vote of thanks.More than 40 representatives from various educational institutions and industry actively participated and made this program a huge success.
