Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar in association with Eastern Railways & Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) Bhubaneswar & Kolkata Chapter organized a National seminar on Public Relations: New Trends and Challenges at Kolkata recently. Speaking on the occasion the chief guest of the seminar Dr. R. Badrinarayan, DRM, Howrah Division, and Eastern Railways said, PR is a very powerful tool and it has been successfully implemented for cleanliness drive of platforms as part of the Swachha Bharat campaign by the Eastern Railways.
In his welcome address Dr.R. N. Mahapatra, CPRO Eastern Railways and Chairman, PRCI Kolkata Chapter focused on how the Indian railways has been the harbinger of PR in India and shared his three decades of experience as a PR professional.
In his address Dr. B.K.Das, Advisor, Birla Global University remarked that truthful communication and transparency are the cornerstones of good public relations. He reiterated that PR to be credible, has to be based on ethical practices.
Dr. Ashok Panda, Chairman, PRCI, Bhubaneswar Chapter stressed on the importance of communicating things in right way. Further he added, how you say is more important than what you say.
The other speakers of the day were Mr. B.N. Kumar, National President, PRCI, Mr. Sneasish Sur, President, Press Club of Kolkata, Prof. B.K. Sahu, Chairman, PRCI, East, Prof. Shiv Shankar Das, and Birla Global University.
Prof. Biswajit Das, Secretary, PRCI, Kolkata gave the vote of thanks .Around 100 students of journalism & mass communication from Birla Global University and Calcutta University attended the seminar.
