BGU Organises a Two day International Conference on Reviving Global Economy in New Normal in Virtual Mode

Bhubaneswar: Birla School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, organized a two day International Conference on “Reviving Global Economy in New Normal” on 26 - 27 Feb 2021 in Virtual Mode. The Inaugural ceremony was graced by many eminent persons from different countries. Prof (Dr) Paresh Kumar Narayan, Professor of Business and Economics, Monash University, Australia, was the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Prof. Narayan suggested different countries for proper policy implementation to recover the economy after pandemic. Prof.(Dr.) Raghbendra Jha, Professor of Economics in Australian National University, Australia was the Chief Speaker. He emphasized on Agricultural Productivity enhancement for revival of global economy in post pandemic era. Prof (Dr.) Monika Kalin Golob and Prof (Dr.) Jagdish Shettigar were the guests of honour. Prof Emmanuel Egbe, Professor and Chair Department of Economics and Finance from The City University of New York, USA was one of the speakers in the inaugural session. Prof.(Dr) P. P. Mathur, Honorable Vice Chancellor , BGU, Prof (Dr) B. K. Das, Registrar, BGU also spoke on the occasion. The conference chair Prof (Dr.) Parameswar Nayak, Dean Birla School of Management and Birla School of Social Sciences and Humanities, BGU introduced the theme of the conference and Dr. Seba Mohanty, Conference convener welcomed the guests.

The compendium of the Abstracts of the conference paper was released. Dr Debiprasad Bal, Assistant Professor of Economics & Conference Co convener offered vote of thanks. The inaugural ceremony was followed by Technical Session-I on “Revival Economy: Challenges and opportunities in Post Pandemic Era”.

The session was chaired by Dr Amarendra Sahoo, Former Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India. Prof(Dr) Radhe Shyam Pradhan, Professor from Tribhuvan University, Nepal was Chief Speaker. Prof (Dr.) Maja Bu?ar, Professor of Economics, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Dr Nanthakumar Loganathan, Professor of Economics, Universiti of Teknologi, Malaysia were the speakers. This session was moderated by Dr Seba Mohanty. The conference was attended by about 250 delegates and 12 eminent speakers from different countries. A number of research papers on different issues on challenges and opportunities on revival of the economy were presented.

On the second day, Technical Session-II was conducted on “New Approaches to Business Environment” followed by the valedictory session. The session was chaired by Prof (Dr.) Parameswar Nayak, Dr Gerald Goh, Dean, Faculty of Business, Multi Media University, Malaysia and Prof (Dr.) Yamin, Faculty of Economics and Administration, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia were the speakers. The Session was moderated by Dr Ajit Kumar Dash, Assistant Professor, Birla School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
