Birla School of Social Sciences and Humanities (BSS&H), Birla (Global University, Bhubaneswar, organized the Commencement Day to welcome its 3rd batch MA Economics and 2nd Batch BA Economics students at its Gothapatana Campus on 22nd July 2019. The program was graced by Shri Sanjib Chandra Hota, IAS (Retd), Former member-Board of Revenue, Govt of Odisha, as Chief Guest, Shri Himanshu Mohanty, Executive Director, Price Water House Coopers, Mumbai as Chief Speaker and Dr. Parag Diwan, Chief Executive Officer at paradigm Consultants and Resource Management Pvt Ltd as Guest of Honour. While delivering the Commencement Day address, Mr Hota discussed regarding the importance of Economics and advised the students to be sincere in their studies.
Shri Mohanty, the Chief Speaker, advised the students to work hard and discuss regarding different economic thoughts. Prof. Sudhakar Panda, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University, assured the students that they will enjoy their stay during their studentship here and encourage them to develop their interpersonal skills. The Registrar of BGU Dr B.K. Das, stated that the Birla Global University stands for quality and assured that all attempts shall be made to provide them best education in economics. Dr. Parameswar Nayak, Dean, BSoM, motivates the students to be honest and understand the value of education. Prof Samson Maharana, Dean BSCom spoke about the importance of Economics in the present scenario, Prof Ajit Kumar Dash delivered the welcome address, and spoke about the significance of Economics Course at the under graduate and post graduate level. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Seba Mohanty, Faculty of BSS&H.
