International seminar on workplace gender equality organised. Two technical sessions were held at the conference. Numerous research papers on workplace gender equality were presented.
A two-day long international conference, 'Gender and Management: Issues and challenges', was organised in Bhubaneswar, Thursday by Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).
"The conference aims to bring together leading academicians. industry experts, regulatory authorities, and research scholars from India and abroad who are sharing their wide knowledge on the issue," said P Nayak, BIMTECH Director.
Two technical sessions were held on the inauguration day where numerous research papers on workplace gender equality were presented. A panel discussion was also part of the first-day meet. The event was inaugurated by Sarat Kumar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Ltd.
Shyam S Lodh from the marketing department of Southern Connecticut State University in USA was invited as the guest of honour "The conference aims to provide a forum where industry practitioners and educators can present and discuss the challenges women working incorporates face," director said. Many noted personalities from business organisations like Mahindra and Mahindra Finance Service Limited, Aditya Birla Group, The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and NTPC will participate on the second day of the event, Friday.
The event is being done in collaboration with Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad and University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
